To study fairly and objectively probing issues encountered by our society from different perspectives and seek solutions. To timely express views and demands of intellectuals to the government in economic, social and community affairs. To support policies in favor of the future development of society. To deliver advice on social problems and unfavorable policy. To promote social progress and future development so as to grasp the imperative of globalization and the new opportunities brought about by the competitive environment.

本聯盟成立的宗旨是本著薈萃社會精英，集思廣益為社會服務的精神，致力提升社會的競爭力。扎根香港，放眼世界，關心時事，堅持以不同的角度、公正而客觀地去探討社會遇到的問題及尋求解決方法，就經濟、社會及民生等政策適時向政府表達及反映知識份子的意見及訴求，對有利於社會未來發展的政策全力支持，對社會問題及未完善的政策提出意見。推動社會進步和未來發展，祈使我們能夠掌握全球一體化和競爭環境所帶來的新機遇。
